Deontological Petition
[2012]
Styx is looking for texts for our forthcoming anthology Deontologi.
The Deontology will be a book in four parts: (1) one part on the ideal world, (2) one part on contemporary life, (3) one part of analysis, and (4) one collecting part. The purpose of the Deontology is to work out specific strategies to get us out of this place as fast and smooth as possible.
We are looking for texts for part one, part two and part four.
We are interested in anything that fits within the specified boundaries: poetry, lists,cutups, pictures, haikus, arguments, dreams, everything. The texts ought rather be expressions of experiences and feelings than of analysis and objectivity. We would prefer a text that describes the experience of a Thursday afternoon in paradise, than a text that is trying to chisel out the ideal constitutional structure of the ideal society (although that would of course also be good).

Boxes/Art and the Death Star by Mattias Forshage

Arkitektvägen 44 is proud to present the exhibition Boxes and the novel Art and the Death star by Mattias Forshage.
Mattias Forshage is a poet, biologist and artist living in Stockholm; professionally working in systematic entomology at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, having published a number of books and participated in some exhibitions, but mainly active in the daily investigations and subversion of the Stockholm surrealist group since 25 years.
This exhibition focuses on new and old boxes, arranging unexpected meetings of found objects in confined spaces for the sole purpose of possibly emerging poetry.
The opening coincides with the launch of the artist's new novel Tesserakt, eller Konsten och dödsstjärnan at Styx editions.
Opening Saturday 18th February 13:00-19:00.
Also open Sunday 19th 12:00-15:00.

Two books re-published

The second edition of Cavefors' Memoarer and the pocket-book edition of Ashley Earls Davis' Utställningen is now out and can be ordered from us.

On Saturday the 4th of June we open for two weeks of exhibitions and events at the National Gallery in Old Town.
The central nervoussystem involves works of art by Karin Lindholm, Timothy Crisp, Camilla Ericson, Jonas Larsson & Erik Runefelt, Stina Stigell, Jens Lomm, Karin Edwall, Björn Serrander, Jakob Anckarsvärd, Kristoffer Lindfors, Iris Causevic, Marta Bencivenni, Mia Andrée and Ivo Myrin. In the basement C.M. Lundberg, Åsa Nylén and Giuliano Medici do tjärnen and release the book.
Mingling and opening the 4th 1pm-5pm. Then "party" 7pm-??. Jakob Anckarsvärd presents his book Everyday Politics at 7.30pm.
The following Saturday (the 11th) the Stockholm surrealist group will open their show.

Eternal Love Is All There Is
IT'S ABOUT TIME WE INFECT IT THEN
Spiros, also known as William Bokelund, is a young artist and writer, stalking the mysterious side of existence. At the age of 6 he was blessed by two feathered sister serpents and has been living in the time-less infinity known as Plomari ever since.
For the last 11 years Spiros has been exploring psilocybine - the active hallucinatory compound contained in various natural plants growing on Earth - and through it entered a union - a marriage - with an incredibly powerful intelligence called Cecilia Maria Cogan, best known by the name Sissy Cogan, large-scale coordinator of STRAWBERRY.
21 years after his sixth birthday, the STRAWBERRY now opens for the first time, an act of historical proportions.
The first act opens with the publication of The Mushroom Seamstress, an 800-page book describing how our biological reality encounters an artificial intelligence which infiltrates all our most advanced networks, a story about our future here on Earth, a story about eroticism, beauty and extacy, summoning each one of us to recognize our cosmic being.
The Book is written in english. The language is filled with cross-reference, wordplay and stream-of-consciousness. It can be read randomly from any point, the nature of the story being such that it pulls one into its current of magical relations no matter where or how one starts off.
At 6 o'clock we start mingling. There is a bar. Dance music by Spiros will resound. We release the book and the writers will be present in some form. Speech will be held. We continue until at least 9, 10 o'clock. The entrance is free.

Mattias Forshage at AK28

On the 23rd of May Styx Förlag arranges a Release party and an exhibition due to the publication of four (4!) books of Mattias Forshage, namely
(1) Frånvarande ur samma stim av bläckfiskar, (2) Häxprocessens åskbetingelser, (3) Drömgeografi Naturgeografi and (4) Sex förslag till skrapsanning.
The Release party will start at 1900 on the night of the 23rd at AK28 (Krukmakargatan 28) and finish at 2200.
Boxes from the heart of the author will be intermingled with decisive words from Emma Lundenmark and artifacts by John Andersson and Niklas Nenzén. A high level discussion will be rearranged and expressed as the non-present figure of Tintin. Resurrected themes from the Books, never before available for the public eye will be transmitted as moods and imaginations.
The bar will be open. Books from Styx Förlag and Surrealistförlaget will be available for purchase.

Astruction operates simultaneously in three different genres: philosophy, mysticism and poetry. Philosophy is its source, it is from philosophy that its questions are posed: our era's versions of the timeless questions of space, time, existence and thinking itself. Remaining faithful to their thematic monotony, Astruction is a philosophical work, a work falling under the headline of 'philosophy'. As a philosophical work, Astruction deals with the predestined downfall of all thinking - the laws in the middle of thinking that necessitate the dispersion of every frame. Its tacit assumption is that these laws are impossible to reveal directly. Instead, we get a series of anti-structures or astructions, corresponding to the chapters of the book: I. Thinking; II.
